A secondary school in Newham is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to support students with moderate learning difficulties. Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with moderate learning difficulties delivering tailored lessons to meet their individual needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) ensuring that students learning goals are specific measurable and achievable.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO teaching assistants and other staff members to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress adjusting teaching strategies to ensure continuous development.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student engagement confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with parents caregivers and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with moderate learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions particularly for moderate learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students staff and parents.
  • A patient compassionate and adaptive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A DBS check is required.
