Key resposbilities of a Facilities Manager

Management

  • Ensure external contracts with Preventative Maintenance organisations are carried out and record the same
  • Day to day running of Building Management Systems where installed
  • Ensure systems are operating correctly and identify any faults and rectify if within your skill level or arrange external companies to resolve
  • Review/update & maintain all facilities and Assets contracts
  • Ensure all assets are maintained n keeping with the requirements
  • Liaise with contractors, engineers, sales reps etc across all sites
  • Establish an affective reactive maintenance plan and Maintain a record of the condition of the sites
  • You will be the direct line manager of the Facilities Assistant, which will include some HR processes such as appraising, guidance, arranging basic training and so

Health & Safety

  • To be the H&S Rep and complete the following H&S tasks;
  • Review/update site inductions, work permits
  • Review (and where not in place create) all on site health and safety files/records, to include and not limited to;
  • Liable for Risk Assessments Current Method Statements, Current changes to Legislation and Maintain compliance record
  • Monitor and review training for staff on Health and Safety
  • Arrange safety training as necessary; Fire Marshal training
